Life’s Heart – Oct 2019 Update #3

Supa oleng

Rain fell during the night so when Tim and the group traveled to Oloomorj Village on Monday, they were able to see zebras, wildebeest and gazelles. What an amazing sight to see the animals freely roaming the countryside! The weather was cold & overcast. The villagers were wrapped in their red shukas! Shuka is the wool “blanket” used as a coat by the Maasai. Red being their favorite color. It is a very warm wrap which is one of my favorites here. Oloomorj Village consisted of 155 households and the medical need was great with 84 children receiving vaccinations. Once again, the people waited patiently for their turn in receiving food, supplies and medical attention. On Tuesday, Tim and the group traveled to the poorest village, Olodokulupuoni. Food, supplies and medical needs were met and the pillowcase dresses and shorts were distributed. It was a great day of smiles and joy for the children. I am so thankful for the ladies that sew the dresses & shorts!

Tim was able to see Dodo, the burned feet girl walking and Namayiana, a 1yr club foot patient. It was a long day but so worth every bump, cold wind and blowing dirt.

Life’s Heart has 3 surgeries scheduled. One scheduled for today has been rescheduled for Nov 21 at Kenyatta Natl Hospital. It involves a young girl with a left ear abscess / issue.  Oloishurua Nanteya is scheduled for Nov 3 to correct his broken leg and Kereto Pingua on Oct 24 to remove nasal polyps. These children & their families are forever grateful.

Tim is back at Bomas in Nairobi. He is finishing his time meeting with Kenya Agriculture officials as they both share AG information. In a few days, he will begin the travel back to USA.

Life’s Heart was started in May 2009 and Tim and I are thankful and blessed for the prayers and support we have received from family and friends. With you, Life’s Heart has been able to provide the basic of needs – clean water, food, education, medical assistance and most importantly the Love of Christ.

Mungu Awabariki!  God Bless You!
