Life’s Heart – Nov 2022 Update

HOPE is how I would describe our trip to Kenya. Hope to Kenyans facing another month of drought weather conditions. Hope to a school that now has fresh, clean water. Hope to mama’s with a blessing of food and staples. Hope to those with medical needs but no health care available. Hope to people that have been turned away by 3 and possibly 4 evil, greedy men. Hope to a village that no one had ever given them anything. Hope to God’s children. Life’s Heart was able to provide Hope.

Finally able to travel without restrictions, Tim and I flew to Kenya. As we stepped off the plane, we both took a deep breath and said “Yes, this is Kenya.” After a few days of jet lag recovery, we traveled to Narok and Oloomoroj Primary School. Borehole well #6 was being completed. An exciting day of celebration including a well Blessing was held. We then moved to Naroosura and prepared to provide Hope to outlying villages as we have done in the past.

The challenges of finding food were great and in very short supply. We had to scale back our plans. We had brought medical supplies with us. The first day found us in a village with 115 families receiving food supplies and 200 receiving medical assistance. After repacking and going out the next day, 91 families received food supplies and 125 received medical assistance. And on the final day, 120 families received food supplies and 40 received medical assistance. Hope to God’s children. What a way to celebrate Thanksgiving!

Banana orchard is growing and producing bananas. Oranges are sweet and plentiful. Mangoes and avocados were just beginning to ripen. Onions were being harvested. The maize and beans were harvested and sold. December is the month of short rains and planting will begin again in January. Purchased 7 bags of fertilizer (90kg), 25 avocado trees, arrangements made to install 8 sprinklers for irrigation and Tim’s favorite –  a weed eater! Hope to God’s children.

Life’s Heart is humbled by the Hope provided on this trip. Each time we spoke we thanked God for all that HE has provided us. That we are here because of God and no one else and we asked for nothing in return. Hope for God’s children.

Tim and I are thankful for all the Franciscan Sisters, Simon, Patrick, and Vincent. They are a huge blessing to us. Life’s Heart is grateful for our donors and prayer warriors. Thank you ALL very much for allowing us to provide Hope to God’s children.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
