Life’s Heart – November 2023

Grateful  ~  Thankful  ~ Blessed

Just when Life’s Heart thought they were done drilling borehole wells in Kenya, God had other plans. The village of Ntuka became known to us.  This village of 300 households has a water source 5 to 8 miles away depending on which stream had water.  There are 450 students and teachers at the Ntuka School with NO water. Livestock is the primary source of income for the people and livestock need water to survive.

How do you say NO? Life’s Heart tried. Every time we said, “But what about this?” An answer was provided. Then we asked, “What about this issue?” An answer was provided again and again. WilMag, our Nairobi borehole well drilling company, did a water survey with their Hydrologist. The Hydrologist report was good. There is water! The solar well pump and water pipes were in supply. The borehole well rig was available and could travel with the crew at any time.  So, we turned it all over to God and said “YES!”

Tim traveled to Kenya in August to meet with Ntuka Chief and Elders and the WilMag people. The meeting was successful and plans were made to start the project in October. Back in the US, Tim stayed in communication with all those involved in the project. Tim decided to go to Kenya in November to be there for the completion of the well. Then it started raining and the roads became a muddy and slick mess. The borehole well rig could not travel. However, when Tim arrived, the process of drilling had begun and clean water is flowing now! The final steps are in process.

With Tim in Kenya now, food distributions and mobile medical clinics were possible. These villages, Kishalduka, Ntuka, Nkimpa and Letunyi were blessed with food and medical care. Life’s Heart food distribution consists of a bag of maize, sugar, container of fat/cooking oil, small bag of salt and tea plus 1 bar of soap. Amoxicillin, ibuprofen, and vaccinations were the main treatment and care given at the mobile medical clinics. Tim was able to travel with Patrick, our medical guy to Kijabe CURE International Hospital. A couple of club foot, cleft lip patients and an adenoid removal patient were examined.

Soon Tim will be making the long journey home. We are Grateful and Thankful for your prayers and for our supporters. God has richly Blessed Life’s Heart, and Tim and I greatly. If you would like to be a part of Life’s Heart’s ministry, please consider a donation of any amount. Your donation will enrich the lives of many as we continue to follow God’s call.

Be Blessed!

Marcia
