Life’s Heart Update #2 – Nov/Dec 2024

My heart is full. Our hearts are full. On Thanksgiving Day, Tim and I sat in a room filled with 70 families that Life’s Heart had touched. The room was filled with adults and children of all ages that had received medical care because of Life’s Heart assistance. In all there have been 250+ families touched! From the cleft lip, cleft palate, club foot, deformed leg, deformed hand & fingers, burned feet & hands, fistulas, goiters, the back injury and more, they came and thanked us. Many had never seen us before, but they knew us as the Mzungu Maasai. At one time, the Maasai villagers would hide their child from us and now they seek us.  It was a day of Blessings and Thanks!

We traveled to Olodokulupuoni Village. I really mean we bumped, slid, stuck then unstuck, down and up, slid and bumped some more until we reached the village up high. There we distributed food to 220 households and held our Mobile Health Clinic with Patrick and 2 Technicians. There were 257 patients treated, and 30 children received immunizations. Another day of Blessings and Thanks.

Then we did it again. This time we traveled to Kideket Village with another wild, crazy day of travel. Life’s Heart distributed food to 99 households and 177 were treated and 29 immunizations were given at the Mobile Health Clinic. On this day, pillowcase dresses, shorts, t-shirts and t-shirt jump ropes were distributed to the children. Another day of Blessings and Thanks.

A Day of Dedication and ribbon cutting was conducted for two classrooms at the Narok – Mother Teresia vanMiert School. Father John conducted a mass of Gratitude. A father, Fabian, spoke on behalf of the parents. Students spoke and presented gifts. A cake cutting ceremony was held and lunch was served. Another day of Blessings and Thanks.

Tim is a statistical person. He likes numbers and keeping records. On this trip, he figured we distributed food, enough for 5 days, to 1595 people at a cost of $.20 per day per person. I, on the other hand, am an emotional person. And yes, I shed tears of joy!

Life’s Heart ~ Living In Faith Everyday continues to bless and is blessed! This is one of the most emotional trips I have ever experienced. How did two people from rural, farm country in Indiana end up in the middle of Maasai villages? Only GOD! God knew! And Tim and I are Blessed and Thankful.

I have arrived back home in the USA as I write this. Tim continues to serve in Kenya for a few more days. Life’s Heart is humbled by the prayers, love shared and gratitude of many. Asante Sana.

Mungu Awabariki! God Bless You!
