Life’s Heart – March 2019
Greetings to all,
As the Indiana weather starts to warm up and the sun is shining longer, the weather in Kenya is dry and very hot. The drought continues with a light rainfall occasionally. The borehole wells are continuing to pump fresh water. This is a huge blessing for the people and for the crops.
In Naroosura, the maize and bean yield was poor but a few bags are better than none. The sun was too hot for too long with poor soil conditions to benefit from the irrigation system. However, thanks to the irrigation system the banana orchard is producing. The layer of mulch and the ditch irrigation system is a big plus in the banana orchard. Bananas are growing and producing lots of bunches!
My greatest joy has been the children that go to Kijabe Hospital. John Tingisha, Nemayian, and Silvia Kitalo continue to improve and make great progress. Jane is growing rapidly and was in much need of a new prosthesis. And Peshut for the first time in her 3 years of life stood up on her own two legs! She is in awe of this new sense of balance and mobility. Peshut is learning to walk, to move, to stand and soon I know she will be running with the other children in the village. Praise God from whom all Blessings flow!
Tim and I continue to rejoice in the blessings of Life’s Heart through the good and the bad. Your continued support and prayers for Life’s Heart and our Kenya family are appreciated.
Mungu Awabariki!
Marcia
